This assembly features a five-eighths inch by eight-foot copper grounding rod driven into the earth, connected to a number six American Wire Gauge bare copper wire via a grounding rod clamp. The connection is housed within a ten-inch round valve box with a locking lid, set atop a three-inch minimum depth of three-quarter-inch washed gravel. The bare copper wire is routed through a one-inch polyvinyl chloride electrical conduit and sweep for earth ground, maintained at a twenty-four-inch minimum depth below finished grade. The rod is positioned between eight and twelve feet from the adjacent conduit entry point.
